Operation in Booysens area yields results

JO’BURG Central Cluster SAPS (Johannesburg Central, Brixton, Booysens, Mondeor, Moffatview, Sophia Town, Langlaagte and Fairlands) held their crime operation on June 22 and 23.

CONFISCATED: Illegally sold liquor confiscated by the police.

The operations were held simultaneously in the different policing areas. On June 22, members from Booysens police station raided several hot spots in the Bellavista area that are contributors to crime. Four arrests were made of suspects in possession of drugs. A large amount of drugs was found in this area.

On June 23, several liquor outlets were raided and three arrests were made for dealing in liquor without a licence. Several second-hand dealers were also raided and fines were issued for failure to register a business. During this operation members also made an arrest for possession of drugs.

Booysens SAPS communication officer, Captain Lorraine van Emmerik, said the management wishes to thank members from Booysens SAPS, members from JMPD and the Community Patrollers who assisted in these operations.
