Family church expands to serve the local community
If you’re in need of guidance, counselling or healing, you are most welcome to visit EKkaleo Family Church Sunday.
PASTOR Charl Swart joined the EKkaleo Family Church ministry team in May to take responsibility for the English services – proving that there’s a definite need to hear the word of God and preach the Gospel in a universal language.
By extending its reach to the community, the church is able to better serve people both spiritually and physically.
He has been in the pastoral ministry for almost three years and was previously involved at Meyersdal Doxa Deo and Southern Christian Church in Bassonia. He has a passion for teaching people and aims to enable them to engage with the community. He gets to know people by interacting with them and loves to interact with people from different backgrounds. He tries hard to determine their spiritual and physical needs, and to address them where possible. “My personal vision is to preach God, teach people and reach the world. To accomplish this, I make sure that I preach the word of God correctly and that I teach the congregation about the truth of the word of God,” he said.
Pastor Charl Swart is married to Jennifer Swart and they have three sons.
EKkaleo Family Church is affiliated to the AFM (Apostolic Faith Mission) and has been situated at its current premises in Robertsham for more than 30 years. It’s a true family church where love and care abound. Upon entering, you are welcomed by friendly faces. The church is very involved in supporting the local community as seen with its most recent free winter market. Here, anyone who wanted to pass by could help themselves to free second-hand clothes and free food. The congregation also boasts a very strong children’s ministry to ensure that they are taught and educated about the love of Jesus from an early age. The children’s ministry also allows parents to focus their undivided attention on the preaching, whilst the kids are occupied in the church hall.
Building on the success of the Afrikaans congregation, the church now offers an English service every Sunday at 10.30am. The church wanted to open its doors to as many members of the community, irrespective of their background or language.
Anyone in need of guidance, counselling or healing, is most welcome to visit EKkaleo Family Church Sunday. EKkaleo Family Church preaches sound doctrine. The Afrikaans service takes place at 9am every Sunday. The church is open to anyone, and they are looking forward to welcoming you at the corner of Rifle Range and Northland Road, in Robertsham.
