ELECTRICITY cables were stolen in Laubscher Street, Glenvista Extension Four during the evening or night of August 6 and 7. According to Ward 23 councillor Sarah Wissler, cable theft is becoming a huge concern in the area.
“There is a lot of cable theft in my ward. If you see anyone digging up an open area, please ask them for a ‘way leave’ or a job card. If the person/persons digging up the ground can’t produce one, please phone the CPF 24-hour line on 076 898 8011. Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) who are assigned to City Power, will be informed immediately and they can come out and arrest the culprits,” said Clr Wissler.
