ON Women’s Day, August 9, The Love Army Camp which was founded by Gina Athans, held its first ever event at Thornbirds Wedding and Conference Centre in Eikenhof, in collaboration with Dr Smile.
The Love Army Camp focuses on empowering women and children and on Women’s Day invited a youth group for whom they had organised an informative and fun day.
The programme included a talk on HIV, puberty and the implications thereof, hygiene, pregnancy and oral hygiene. It also featured some motivational talks as well as a workshop by The MinaCup organisation, arts and crafts and a delicious lunch at Miss Grace. Goodie bags were handed out at the end of the day too.
“I hope this will be the first of many events organised by The Love Army Camp. I’m excited to make a difference in the lives of our youth and women,” Gina said.
