A SPECTACULAR career day was hosted at the La Rochelle Primary School south of Johannesburg on September 28.
The career day for the Grade Seven learners had career experts visiting the school to speak to the learners and providing them with firsthand knowledge of what really goes on in the different fields of professions.
The proceedings were opened by school principal Jones Sehoana with a prayer and a few words of thanks.
Sehoana welcomed the key career professionals and thanked them for taking time out of their busy schedules.
Career professionals in journalism Gopolang Chawane, the Johannesburg’s fire department’s Mr Shuping and teacher and deputy principal Ms Gautamah told the young pupils of the challenges they face in their designated fields.

Foundation teacher at La Rochelle Ms Shibambu also added on the challenges and benefits of teaching as a profession.
Learners were all dressed in different career uniforms of what they wanted to become.
The Grade Sevens also entertained guests with a song and dance in-between speeches.
Principal Sehoana said the career day was a pivotal part of every learner’s life as it provided them with firsthand experience of what professionals did on a day to day basis.
