Halloween street fun

“We had a fantastic turnout and everyone enjoyed the fun. With the roads closed off for the safety of everyone, children walked up and down Allen Road and roads leading off from it. Residents handed out sweets to each and every one,” said Sarah Wissler (Ward 23 DA Clr) and one of the organisers.

GANSRA (Glenvista and New South Residents Association) held a Halloween party on October 28, which was enjoyed by over 300 children and adults who came along dressed up in fancy dress.

DON’T CRY, IT’S NOT SO SCARY: Roger the rabbit sheds a tear or two.

Some chose scary outfits, others came along as witches and wizards, while many chose colourful fancy dress outfits to show off. Different age groups were judged with some fantastic prizes handed out.

“A very big thank you to all the residents who supported the GANSRA fund-raiser and to Capital Air, JMPD (Johannesburg Metro Police Department) and Kibler Park Fire Station. Thanks also to Mall of the South, Calisto’s, Allegiance Properties (Julian Cornofsky), Col’Cacchio (Mall of the South), Turn ’n Tender (Bassonia), WebAfrica and Gold Reef City for their support and contribution to the prizes,” said Sean Brown, chairman of GANSRA.

“Thank you Robert and the ER family for supporting our fund-raiser. Your team were fantastic! We are blessed to have you guys in our community. D&D Tactical, you were awesome by keeping our streets and children safe by blocking the roads. We would not have been able to have such a successful event without you.
