A hero’s send-off was given to two Rewlatch Primary School teachers who will be retiring at the end of the year.
Teachers Frikkie du Plessis and Anemarie van der Bank were celebrated at a special assembly on November 16, from 8am, for their tireless contributions to the Rewlatch family.
Colleagues and learners told stories of how the two teachers had touched their lives.

An emotional van der Bank thanked Rewlatch Primary for the wonderful memories.
Du Plessis jokingly said someone asked him on the same morning if he was leaving and he said he “was shocked at the news”.

Du Plessis dedicated 15 years to Rewlatch Primary, while van der Bank served the school for 37 years.
The two Rewlatch stalwarts’ shoes will be very hard to fill.
