UPDATE: JMPD officer succumbs to his head injuries

At about 3am this morning, February 14, JMPD Officer D.A. Ratshikhopha passed away at Milpark Hospital. Officer Ratshikhopha was shot by hijackers at Booysens yesterday.

The officer was alone at the time and intervened as a minibus taxi was being hijacked when the suspects shot at the officer about five times and one bullet hit the side of his head.

He was transported to Milpark Hospital for further medical attention, where he later died.
