CPS Security recently reported two of its successes in Brackenhurst and General Alberts Park, where they caught suspects who were targeting the areas.
Infamous robber nabbed in Brackenhurst

The CPS control room received multiple panic alerts from a client in Frangipani Street, Brackenhurst, on the morning of March 13.
Reaction units were dispatched. Upon their arrival, the client confirmed that a suspect was seen jumping into her neighbour’s yard. The reaction officers searched for the suspect, found him and apprehended him.

Shortly thereafter, it was discovered that the suspect had broken into a property in Edelweiss Street where flat-screen televisions, jewellery and other electronics were stolen. All these goods were recovered.

Brackendowns SAPS was contacted and a case of house break-in was opened. This suspect is infamous for breaking in at several other properties in Brackenhurst and Brackendowns.
“We urge the public to be extra-vigilant on dustbin days because the criminals use this as an opportunity to break into properties,” said Tyrone van der Merwe on behalf of CPS.
Thieves stopped in General Alberts Park
That same day, just before 3pm, one of CPS’ reaction units spotted three men acting suspiciously in Heide Street, General Alberts Park. Two of them were seen walking up to a gate and attempting to lift it off its railing. The other suspect acted as the lookout from a few metres away.
CPS’ tactical team jumped into action at the request of the reaction unit. All three suspects were arrested. One tried to get away on foot but he was caught. House break-in tools were found in their possession.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspects had attempted to force the gate open with a crowbar. A case of attempted house break-in as well as possession of house break-in tools was opened at Alberton SAPS.
It is thought that these suspects have been targeting General Alberts Park for the past few weeks.
“Very well done to our tactical team and reaction units,” said van der Merwe.
