UPDATE: Newborn baby found in Mondeor

A NEWBORN baby girl was found on Tuesday morning (April 17) abandoned in a veld along Columbine Avenue, Mondeor, while SAPS Mondeor was patrolling on the corner of Adelaide Road and Columbine Avenue.
CPF Mondeor Precinct Sector Two contacted ER24 Joburg South branch manager to assist and the baby believed to be about three days old. She was suffering from hypothermia and dehydration and was treated by paramedics and gradually warmed before she was transported to a private hospital for further attention.
Local authorities were on the scene and will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
