Johannesburg SPCA will be hosting a Mandela Day event

Spend your 67 minutes with animals

The Johannesburg SPCA will be hosting Mandela Day on July 18 to spend time with their pets.

Members of the public are urged to come and enjoy a day of fun with different kinds of animals in the SPCA kennel section. People will be allowed to brush and take a walk with the pets. This is to pay tribute to the father of the nation.

Liana Mary, kennel manager, said: “The SPCA loves to reach out to the community and honour events of this magnitude. With the 67 Minutes for Mandela taking place at our facility, we hope to have more of these events taking place so that people can know more about animals.”

Donations for the day will only be R100 and the SPCA’s wish list consists of torches, gumboots size 7-12, industrial hosepipes, black pens, toys, tennis balls and hooves for the animals, Handy Andy and pine gel, washing powder, cameras, cellphones, pastel paint, paint brushes and microwave.

The event will take place at Johannesburg SPCA, 5 Benray Road, Reuven. from 8am to 2pm.
