Tebogo Ditsele urges the community of the South to help with soccer field

He would like the field to be as it was before - a soccer field where they use to host soccer tournaments, community meetings, school’s athletics events and other community activities.

TEBOGO Ditsele from Naturena Extension 19 is appealing to the community of the South to help with the soccer field that has been in disarray for the past two years.

He would like the field to be as it was before – a soccer field where they use to host soccer tournaments, community meetings, school’s athletics events and other community activities.

“Even surrounding areas like Eldorado Park, Freedom Park and Mondeor soccer teams use to come and participate in the tournaments that were held at the Naturena soccer field. Most of the young boys that were using the field have turned to drugs and other illegal activities because there was nothing keeping them busy anymore,” Tebogo said.

Tebogo had a soccer team but due to the lack of a proper field, his boys lost interest and passion for the game. He has tried seeking help from government officials but the situation remains static. The same field hosted the Kaizer Chiefs development side in 2010 and has produced players that are now playing at professional level.

“It has been difficult to host tournaments and help the young ones that want to play soccer because of the condition of our field. All I want is to get help for the cleaning of the field and proper goal poles. The sad part is that the very same field has produced players whom today are playing overseas. So, if the field can be tidy to play on again we can continue to produce superstars,” he said.

BEFORE: The field used to be packed with local soccer teams and fans. Teams from surrounding areas usually came to play at the Naturena soccer field.

If anyone would like to help or contribute towards the Naturena soccer field you can contact Tebogo Ditsele on 083 980 9468.
