Millwood Court residents up in arms for better service delivery

Furious residents demand better service delivery at their court which is situated in South Hills.

IT has been three months since Millwood Court residents suffered damage from a water leak.

They further state that this is due to a lack of maintenance of the court.

Furious residents demand better service delivery at their court which is situated in South Hills.

Residents aired their dissatisfaction by tarnishing Ward 57 councillor’s name stating they want answers from the councillor as to why the water leak hasn’t been repaired and maintenance of the court has not been attended.

Carina Jonas, one of the residents said, “This frustrates me because the councillor was here a few weeks back and told us that the water leak problem will be resolved in no time. But we as residents are still waiting for that to happen. We don’t have many demands. We only want better living conditions.”

She said when rainy days arrive they experience a mess from mud, electricity cutoffs and water leaking from the roof. The court walls have been vandalised as well as main wall lights have been tampered with leaving the court in the dark.

Ward 57 Councillor Faeeza Chame told the COURIER she has reported the matter to the area manager.

“This is the process that we follow to report service delivery issues. Millwood Court is indeed up for maintenance and to be revamped but all that will depend on the budget,” said Chame.

The area manager couldn’t be reached for comment.
