Captain David Nkhwashu gets a banquet farewell

Officers came in numbers to pay their respect to Nkhwashu, who is described as an officer who respected and loved his work.

BOOYSENS SAPS honoured Capt David Nkhwashu with a well-deserved farewell after serving in the SAPS for 35 years.

The farewell was hosted on December 28. Officers came in numbers to pay their respect to Nkhwashu, who is described as an officer who respected and loved his work.

Nkhwashu joined SAPS in 1983. He has served under Booysens SAPS since, except for four months in which he was assigned to assist in community service duties at Douglasdale Police Station.

On June 1, 2016, he was promoted to the rank of captain and was placed in the Community Service Centre where he was commander of relief.

Booysens communications officer Capt Lorraine van Emmerik said, “Nkhwashu will be missed at Booysens for his discipline and friendly manner. He was always willing to pass on his information to the junior members on a crime scene and teach them the correct way of doing things. The management and the members wish him many happy years to come and that he may enjoy his retirement.”
