Woman of Stature launches South chapter

THE launch of the new South chapter of Woman of Stature (WOS) was recently held in the Olive Tree Coffee Shop at Thaba Eco Hotel.
Charlotte du Plessis (founder of WOS) welcomed members and invited guests to the launch, adding thanks to Thaba Eco Hotel for affording them the coffee shop and eats and to Kim le Roux from Thaba for organising such a delicious lunch.
Kirsty Marias, from Thaba, said thanks to WOS for choosing Thaba as their venue of choice and wished them all the very best with the launch.
“May your brand go from strength to strength,” Kirsty said.
She elaborated on how Thaba is loved by the local community and international travellers alike.
“Thaba’s mission is celebrating life and with our amazing eight function rooms, wedding and conference facilities, gorgeous accommodation, game drives, the Olive Tree Coffee shop, Kraal restaurant and the EBar, I think we’ve proved that.”
Charlotte welcomed Shereen Hunter (chapter leader for the new South Chapter Joburg West).
“I’ve spent a lot of time connecting with people and I appreciate people who are doers. Finding a brand I wanted to be involved in, Woman of Stature is definitely the one. I like to connect with women who have an influence in their homes, their offices and in politics,” she said.
“WOS is my passion. In 2013 I began with the purpose of empowering women and I’ve never looked back. We need to make a difference and you can do that. This has been a challenging journey for me, but one in which I’ve personally grown and can now train, nurture and develop other women. A woman who I’m mesmerised by is Jenna Clifford. She knows everything about everything.
“As a woman don’t get stuck in a rut, learn to embrace women from all walks of life, respect and show gratitude towards each other,” Charlotte concluded.
One of the women at the launch, Sue Moodley (CEO Pluminco Trade), said: “Charlotte and I go back quite a way and she resonates to what I would like to achieve in my life. It’s important we have WOS here in the South and they have something unique to offer.”
The ladies at the event enjoyed getting to know each other while indulging in a delicious lunch.
