JOHANNESBURG Central SAPS is investigating multiple cases of people claiming to be conned by a certain “prophet”.
The false prophet is believed to be using the Lord’s name to lure his victims. One of the victims told SAPS the prophet told him the cellphone he is using has some demonic powers.
The victim gave the prophet his phone to pray over and remove the demons while the victim ran some errands. When the victim came back the prophet was nowhere to be found.
Johannesburg Central SAPS communications officer Xoli Mbele said they are appealing to members of the public to refrain from believing anyone they meet on the streets.
“Don’t believe anyone you don’t know and introduces himself as a man of God or a prophet. Don’t listen to him when he prophesies to you,” said Mbele.
