Successful youth event in South Hills

Well done to each winning team who received R500.

UP57 Youth and Community Development (YCD), hosted a Youth Day event at Diversity High School recently.

With the theme Remembering the Youth of Yesterday as we Celebrate the Youth of Today, local companies and Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame supported the well-attended event.

Francis Jonkers, founder of UP57 YCD, said, “This will not be the last of these events. This is only the start. We will push and make sure that our youth is sustained by starting soccer clubs and netball clubs. This can only happen with the assistance of corporates and the government.

“Most of all, we would like to thank the Lord for all the help and support we have received. We would like to thank all the coaches for sacrificing their time and effort. Thank you also to the councillor for organising the sports facilities at Diversity High School,” he said.

Well done to each winning team that received R500, including South Hills Netball, City Deep Netball, South Hills u-11 soccer team, South Hills first team and u-19s, and Regents Park soccer team.
