Barkhuizen murder case postponed to September

"Odette’s family have waited all this time for justice to be served and now they have to wait until September,” said a friend of the family.

THE verdict in the case against George Barkhuizen, who stands accused of the murder of his wife, has been postponed.

Barkhuizen appeared in the Johannesburg High Court on July 10

Odette Barkhuizen was shot and killed on June 11, 2015.

During the hearing, Barkhuizen’s lawyers claimed the state is withholding evidence that could prove his innocence.

The next court hearing will be on September 19.
