Hard work by SAPS leads to multiple arrests in one month.

BOOYSENS SAPS continued their good run as they made 179 arrests in the month of July.

The management of Booysens SAPS appreciates the hard work and dedication put in by its members and other role players in combating crime.

The arrests made are as follows:

Armed robbery – one, assault common – six, assault grievous bodily harm – three, assaulting a police official – one, attempted murder – one, bribery – one, business robbery – one.

Further arrests include common robbery – one, contempt of court – one, contravention of liquor act – one, contravention of Second-hand Goods Act – 17, crimen injuria – one, Criminal Matters Amendment Act – one, drinking in public – 21, drug-related crime – 19, drunken driving – 28, failure to comply with Traffic Act – one, fraud – four, house break-in and theft – three, house break-in and theft business premises – one, house robbery – two and interference with police duties – one.

They continued to make arrests for intimidation – four, kidnapping – five, malicious damage to property – four, obstructing police officer – one, pointing of firearm – one, possession of unlicensed firearm – one, possession of hijacked motor vehicle – three, possession of suspected stolen goods – five, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle – four, possession of suspected stolen property – one, possession of unlicensed firearm – two, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition – two, rape – two, reckless and negligent driving – one, shoplifting – 12, tampering with electricity – four, theft – eight, theft from motor vehicle – one and theft of motor vehicle – two.
