Women’s Day function held by Horizon High School

Massage therapists and nail technicians from The Pyramid Spa oversaw massages and manicure respectively to women who attended the event.

WOMEN were pampered and appreciated at a Women’s Day function held by Horizon High School on August 3.

Massage therapists and nail technicians from The Pyramid Day Spa treated women who attended with massages and manicures.

Sibonisiwe Moyo, one of the teachers, said the day was dedicated to women.

“This function is for parents and they could bring whoever to celebrate with us women. They could also donate sanitary towels which will be distributed to girls in various disadvantaged schools,” she said.

The guest speaker, Dr Nokuthula Mazibiko Msimang, spoke about the strength and the powers of women, and how they need to be appreciated.

“If you want to see a successful nation you need to look at the women behind it. I have been inspired by my own mother.

“Women always work hard and they make sure that they nurture everyone around them. We need to tell them that they are heroes and always thank them.

“The 1956 women were great, but we need to take today’s struggle forward. Our influence is shown in our children. Our children took influences from us, either big or small,” she said.
