Join the walk and raise much-needed funds

“Our aim is to assist as many children and young adults with disabilities as possible and with your help we can certainly do so,” Thabo and Ndangi said.

THABO Madilola, founder of Thabo T Madilola Foundation, along with his colleague Ndangi Mudau, have organised a Dignity Colour Walk for August 31, at the Weekend Market, corner of Nasrec and Rifle Range roads, Ridgeway, Uncle Charlies.

Thabo and Ndangi, who both work for the SABC, are keen to raise awareness for children and young adults living with disabilities.

Six schools have been identified to be assisted in the greater Johannesburg area, one of which is Hamlet, in Turffontein.

“Disabled children are not always top of the list in receiving help and we’ve decided to organise this fund-raiser to help them.

“The aim of this walk is to raise funds for dignity packs, which will include sanitary towels for girls, roll-on deodorants for girls and boys, toothpaste, body lotion for boys and girls, a face towel and bath soap.

“The walk, which will begin at 8.30am, will cost R60 for children and R100 for adults and tickets can be purchased through Computicket.

“It will be highly appreciated if you can bring along an item for the dignity pack or sponsor a bag filled with the dignity products.

“For those who would rather donate money to the cause, get more information by emailing nndanganeni@ttmfoundation.co.za or by phoning 063 288 4117 or 083 308 8162,” Thabo said.

This isn’t the first fund-raiser Thabo has been involved with and he has climbed Kilimanjaro to raise funds. Last year December he was involved with Adventure Drive with three schools benefiting from the funds raised.

“We are very happy to have Michelle Pelser on board with some of the planning details and she has kindly suggested if anyone would like to drop off any of the above items for the dignity packs, they are welcome to do so at Sasol Columbine Avenue,” added Thabo.

“Our aim is to assist as many children and young adults with disabilities as possible and with your help, we can certainly do so,” Thabo and Ndangi said.
