Man injured following a collision in Eikenhof

A man has been critically injured in a collision between a light motor vehicle and truck on January 27 in Eikenhof.

According to Ross Campbell, the ER24 paramedics spokesperson, upon their arrival they discovered the driver of the vehicle was trapped inside the vehicle.

“The fire department cut through the roof to extract him. Advanced life support interventions were necessary to stabilise the patient on the scene as well as in the ambulance on the way to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital,” said Campbell.

The truck driver is believed to have suffered minor injuries and he did not go to the hospital.
