During the night of January 28, Mondeor SAPS was doing their routine stop-and-search, patrolling along Lenasia Road, Eikenhof, when they spotted electricity cables abandoned in an open area.
The cables belong to City Power.
The station commander of Mondeor SAPS, Col JJ Bezuidenhoudt, applauded his members for the recovery and stated this is because of the visibility of members in the area, stop-and-searches and their level of readiness to combat crime.
“With the help of the community and other stakeholders, crime will fall,” he added.
