Woman robbed of R27 000 at South Hills New Development site

The construction company had about 16 workers on the day.

Shado Mazibuko, the owner of a construction company, was robbed of R27 000 which was meant as wages for her employees on August 26 in South Hills New Development site.

She said the money was withdrawn at a bank in Alberton and she put it in her bag. “I then went to the site where the foreman told me to come to the gate where other workers were gathered.

“At the gate, there was a car with people and one guy with a firearm came to my car which was not locked. He took my bag on the passenger’s side with money and other belongings inside, took my phone and smashed it. Workers stood there and they did nothing to help me,” she said.

The construction company had about 16 workers on the day. A case of robbery and theft has been opened at Moffat View SAPS.
