New author’s book advocates for transformation
Verwoerdpark resident Tefo Khama has released his debut inspirational book titled Get Your Move On which was recently published.
Life experiences and lots of research brought Tefo Khama’s debut book to life.
This is a book which the Verwoerd Park resident hopes will become a beacon of hope for many. The inspirational book is titled Get Your Move On and was released recently.
Tefo said his own life experiences will serve as an inspiration for people to move from a position of permanent stagnation to achieve their goals.
The initial title for his book was Death by Stagnation.
“There’s a lot of research that went into the book, including looking at the Bible. Many people around me, including my wife and friends, kept encouraging me to publish a book and I felt it was the right time to write it,” he said.
Khama is a trained project and programme manager, who currently works as a general manager for strategy and planning at City Power Johannesburg.
Burning passion
Despite having to wear many hats, the father of four told the RECORD that he has always had love for writing.
“I thought I should write about the dangers of stagnation and drafted all my ideas. The fact is that everyone, including myself, does get stuck at times. The painful part is that a lot of people tend to settle where they get stuck,” he said.
For Khama, a person whose life is stuck is no different to someone who dies.
“Creation demonstrates this fact in many shapes and forms, from conception of a new life to the first kick, to coming into the outside world through birth. Biblical scriptures also provide us with numerous examples about the importance of movement,” he said.
Highlights
He started working on the concept of the book in 2019 and officially started writing Get Your Move On earlier this year.
Khama described his book as being concise yet having a catchy common thread that will keep readers glued.
He said: “It is my hope and prayer that this book will ignite in you that fire which you need to propel you forward into a glorious future. Life is called a journey, and a journey is only useful to those who are willing to travel. It is time to rise and get your move on, your life might just depend on it.”
This is not the end of the road for Khama, he plans to publish four more books.
The book costs R200 and can be delivered nationwide at an additional cost of R70. Contact Tefo Khama on 081 508 5852, alternatively email him at info@tefokhama.co.za
