LISTEN: SyncBeats DJ wants to nurture local talent

SyncBeats DJ said in his former years he used to follow popular DJs and learn from them.

Jimmy Legoabe (34), known as SyncBeats DJ, from Meredale is looking forward to nurturing and guiding up-and-coming artists in and around the South.

He is an experienced club DJ, music producer and qualified sound and radio engineer. SyncBeats DJ has been in the music industry since 1998 as a club DJ and 16 years as a music producer and sound engineer.

“I’m collaborating with a legendary house music vocalist from America by the name of Vickie Ryan, who is respected in the house music international scene. The track is called The Love,” he said.

SyncBeats DJ said in his former years he used to follow popular DJs and learn from them. When the South African Music Conference was held by DJ Fresh, Oskido, and Greg Maloka, SyncBeats DJ was part of it.

“In those conferences, because I wanted something solid, that’s where I developed the need to study music and major in sound engineering.

“I started producing music for local musicians and hosting gigs. I realised there are difficulties that one goes through, and that’s where I thought that up-and-coming artists need someone like me to help them. DJs like Black Coffee and Louis Vega taught me that music can be approached in different ways,” explained SyncBeats DJ.

He planned to work with more artists locally and promised to have an establishment where artists can get help. Also in the pipeline is the South African tour with Vickie Ryan once lockdown regulations have been eased.
