Help for informal settlement residents

Feed Station Organization SA believes if we all help with a heart of sincerity and understanding we can fight the battles we face and fix the community.

Feed Station Organization SA has delivered 600 meals weekly since February to their Pretoria branch, Elandspoort and Proclamation Hill, and the Johannesburg branch has reached out to the Haddon community with vegetables for the past two months.

They would like to thank Kit-Kat Cash and Carry in Pretoria, councillor Rashieda Landis from Ward 56, Ronny Selowa from My Lillies of Hope, Joy Sesedi from Kodijong, all the team members from Feed Station Organization SA, Yungenthri Ebrahim, Winnie Louwfant Tshabalala, Loriaan Kraai, Charmaine du Toit, Vanessa Anita Moonsamy, Roxanne Thomas, Leeryne Moonsamy, Rashieda Nelson and Kristen Alexander.

“We reached out to the community at the Wembley Stadium informal settlement. It was the most heartfelt experience connecting with the residents. As we engaged in handing out meals to each individual, each one of them made an impact in our hearts.

With Covid-19 upon us, sanitisation is important.

We would like to appeal to our fellow South Africans to sympathise in helping those who really need help and are terribly affected by poverty,” said Vinesh Moonsamy from Feed Station Organization SA.

“This will benefit the communities in assisting with bringing the crime rate down in terms of giving those less fortunate an opportunity to be provided with essential daily needs and living conditions. We are all affected by individuals who turn to crime due to lack of basic needs. The pandemic has also impacted their lives.”

On May 12, Feed Station Organization SA will be doing a clean-up campaign with My Lillies of Hope to assist in sanitising the environment, ministering to the community and cooking with them a meal for the community.

They call out to SAPS and any government officials concerning the development of this rural community.

“We urge ward councillors to come out, especially the ward councillor of Ward 124, Mongameli Mnyameni. We encourage the residents in the surrounding areas to reach out and help assist in uplifting the community project.”

Feed Station Organization SA and My Lillies of Hope have teamed up to make an impact in Region F.

“We will be hosting a Nelson Mandela Orphans Fun Day on July 18, which is aimed at uplifting all the orphans in and around Region F. We plan to have fun with the children and have them play games with the community. They will also be given a home-cooked meal.
