Lebogang launches her new book

In this poetry-collection book, you will learn more about love, sorrow, fear, depression and forgiveness among other things.

Lebogang Thabane (20) from Kenilworth launched her book, A pen filled with emotions, at 226 Turf Club Street, Kenilworth, on May 29.

This collection of poetry reveals the art and mystery of the hearts and souls of women.

The purpose of the event was to inspire everyone who faces challenges.

“The book gives hope that anyone can always rise and bloom as beautifully as they want. It also gives a message that every person’s scars are beautiful and a part of who they are. People should embrace them.

“I come from a loving and supportive family. Although I grew up under a lot of criticism and negative comments, it didn’t get to me. After being raped at the age of 16 on July 8, 2017, I became so depressed that I hated my life and I didn’t even know where I was going in life.

“After all that I went through, I just told myself to never pity myself and that’s when I put my pain on paper. I knew I’d still rise. I believe that I’m a seed and people can never kill a seed that has been planted by two strong women who are my mother, Lerato Charity Thabane, and my grandmother, Thokozile Thabane,” explained Lebogang.

Lebogang is a multi-talented young woman who excels in poetry, motivational speaking and visual arts.
