Blankets and food donated to the community
Patriotic Alliance donates blankets and food to the homeless.
On June 12, members of the Patriotic Alliance Party distributed blankets at the Wembley Rehabilitation Camp shelter run by NGO Feed Station Organisation SA, which is rehabilitating 41 drug addicts from Sanca.
Running councillor for Ward 124 Elaine Hemero said they donated 41 blankets sponsored by Delphine Davids and The Chayil Foundation.
“The Wembley Camp was a temporary camp set up in 2017 for people who were affected by a fire at the Booysens informal settlement. There are about 16 sleeping in an open shelter in the cold. Those were the ones we gave blankets to, but there are many more who still need them,” said Hemero.

After distributing the blankets, they moved to Glenesk and scattered in the community to distribute food to the people who are in need.
“The community has given up on service delivery by the political parties and the City of Johannesburg. It is desperate for change and to live in better conditions. It seeks employment and is exhausted of crime. Ward 124 has major challenges.

“As a member of Patriotic Alliance and of the community, I am willing to bring change in Ward 124. I have heard people’s concerns,” she said.
Hemero said they will be donating until October to most communities in the area, and they hope they bring change to people’s lives.
Food was sponsored by the Roxanne and the Johannesburg Team, Feed Station Organization South Africa and Fed the Community in Glenesk.
