South Rand Hospital wishes to inform the surrounding communities within its catchment area that it is now a Covid-19 vaccination site.
The hospital confirmed Covid-19 vaccines will be administered at its Nurses Residence Hall and will be opened for vaccination between 08:00 and 15:00 on weekdays and not operational on weekends and public holidays.
Phafudi Molapo, the hospital’s spokesperson, said all community members within the catchment area are encouraged to use this opportunity to protect themselves and their loved ones.
“It is important that we get as many eligible people as possible to go and get vaccinated. The government has taken steps to ensure the registration process is simplified, as well as the process of getting vaccinated. Vaccines are important because they help protect against severe illness and hospitalisation.
“The hospital management also urges residents in its catchment area to continue to adhere to no-pharmaceutical interventions: wearing masks, keeping safe physical distance, washing hands regularly with soap or using hand sanitiser,” explained Molapo.
