JRA hands over 252 signalised intersections

The JRA encourages the public to report all JRA road-related queries on its platforms.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) informs City of Johannesburg residents of the updated traffic signals jurisdiction.

As of January 2022, all signalised intersections on provincial roads will be managed and maintained by the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport (GDPRT).

In a statement published on January 11, the GDPRT announced its takeover of 252 signalised intersections on provincial roads.

“The GDPRT has committed to intensifying efforts to conduct repairs and render maintenance services for defective traffic signals along provincial routes,” the department said.

The JRA continues to service 2 079 signalised intersections on municipal roads, including those owned by the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral). The list of routes can be accessed on its website.
