WATCH: Protect yourself from STIs and HIV

Use condoms all the time when you engage in any sexual acts.

South Rand Hospital celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 14 by reminding the community about the importance of using condoms and checking your health status.

Hospital’s counsellors Nthabiseng Maqungu and Thulani Zenzile, accompanied by Sister Phumsile Tshabalaba, encouraged the community to change their behaviour to live a healthy life.

The community was encouraged to test for STIs and HIV at the hospital. There were makeshifts booths where testing was done.

They also encouraged the community, especially pregnant mothers, to check their statuses because some of the STIs are dormant and they need to be detected as early as possible.
