Kliprivier SAPS warn motorists of crime syndicate on the R59

Kliprivier SAPS has issued a stringent warning to R59 road users in light of a new syndicate which has since resurfaced.

Kliprivier SAPS urges motorists driving on the R59 to be vigilant of their surroundings.

Road users are warned not to stop on the road when experiencing mechanical breakdowns, but rather to look for a filling station or a safe place to stop.

Sergeant Ndhambi Tintswalo of Kliprivier SAPS said: “We are having a syndicate of five males terrorising motorists driving between Randvaal off-ramp to Kliprivier off-ramp. When you stop on the highway, they come and rob you at gunpoint of your personal belongings.”

She said they do not have further information regarding these suspects that are victimising motorists.

Should you have any information or to report any criminal activities, contact Kliprivier SAPS on 011 903 8205
