Celebrating 20 years of changing schools, changing lives

Join the Miss South Africa Top 10 champion Back to School Mandela Day shoe campaign

The Adopt-a-School Foundation, a partner entity of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, has transformed lives in South Africa’s marginalised communities thanks to its interventions in schools.

Through the implementation of the Foundation’s Whole School Development (WSD) model, schools are developed in leadership, infrastructure, curriculum and social welfare.

According to CEO Steven Lebere, since 2002 Adopt-a-School Foundation and its partners have invested more than R1.2b in over 620 schools nationally.

The foundation has built six new schools and over 700 school structures.

This Mandela Day in July, the Adopt-a-School Foundation has partnered with Bathu and is championing a school shoe campaign to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Bathu is a South African sneaker brand who are also on a journey to donate a million school shoes to students across the country.

To launch the campaign, the Miss South Africa 2022 Top 10 made their contribution this week to honour Youth Day.
