Leak in Amanda Road leaves residents of Glenanda North without water
The leak was reported by residents on Tuesday morning with the problem being fixed last night, but due to the usage of a wrong clamp the leak started again.
Residents of Glenanda North had to endure an evening without water due to a leak on the corner of Amanda Road and Bandini Place, on June 28.
The pipe has been leaking for the last few days with lots of water going to waste.
The councillor for Ward 56, Micheal Crichton said: “The pipe burst yesterday and it has been very frustrating as it has affected the resident’s water supply. Last night I was informed around 22:00 that it will take another three hours to fix, however they restored the water sooner and shortly after that it was seen by the residents that the pipe started to leak again. It’s now a process for the contractors to drain the pipes and then start work on the pipe again.”
The councillor was given a turnaround time on Wednesday morning of six hours after the wrong clamp was used on Tuesday evening to fix the leak.
Some of the fibre cables were also damaged during the repair phase.
