A man was arrested for drug dealing in Alrode on March 1.
The members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit followed up on information about illegal substance dealing from a property in Alrode South.
The members entered the premises and requested documents as per the prescribed by-laws to trade in substances that contained cannabis, but the man could not produce any.
“Members inquired if they could search the premises, and with permission they did to find bags of compressed, flavoured dagga, dagga bombs, needles with dagga oils, dagga cookies and rolled dagga cigarettes on the premises,” said Warrant Officer Gerhard Cornelius from the Brackendowns SAPS.
Because the man could not produce proof that he may be in possession of cannabis or is allowed to sell any of the substances, he was arrested for dealing in illegal substances.
“The suspect, a 20-year-old male, was detained at the SAPS Brackendowns, and all the illegal substances were confiscated and handed in as evidence.”
The estimated value of the seized substances is R150 000.
