Eden Park friends convey a message of hope through clothing brand
A group of friends have partnered to bring a positive impact and leave a footprint in the Eden Park community and surrounding areas through fashion.
Amid ‘pessimism’ linked with Eden Park, a group of friends are on a quest to change the narrative and leave a lasting impression.
Trayvond Veldman, Moriantaz Koopman, Carvin Walburgh, Tyresse Nel and Liam Jones have launched a clothing line branded Ambitiousness Clothing.
Through the brand, they aim to inspire everyone who chases their goal and works toward improving themselves.
According to one partner Trayvond Veldman, they started the clothing line to remind themselves that one can achieve anything they set their minds on.
“Eden Park is a community with a high drug rate and unemployment. That’s where we got the name ‘ambitiousness’. With all the negative things going on in our community, there is a lot of potential. We want to send out a strong message of hope,” he said.
“We are here to remind you that everyone has potential. You just have to be ambitious and go after whatever you feel like pursuing. By doing this, you are changing generational narratives,” Veldman said.
Ambitiousness Clothing has five partners who all have a unique role in the daily operations of the business.
“Ambitiousness was built on having something that belongs to us, something we can call our own, and that which we can give to the next generation. We want to maximise customer experience, build our catalogue and grow our brand on a national level,” he explained.
The group of friends is also looking to explore different business ventures, such as starting a modelling agency to support talent within the community.
