Chad Markgraaf of Alberton runs to save lives and inspire hope

Join Chad Markgraaf on his extraordinary journey as he runs 100 marathons in 100 days to raise funds for Kyle Dally's cancer treatment.

In the world of running, feats of endurance are not uncommon. Athletes push their physical and mental limits to achieve remarkable goals.

But what Chad Markgraaf of Alberton has undertaken is nothing short of extraordinary. Chad is running 100 marathons in 100 days to raise funds for Kyle Dally’s cancer treatment.

As of September 4, Chad has completed two-thirds of this monumental journey, covering over 2 700km. Yet, despite the incredible progress, the need for donations remains urgent.

This endeavour is not just about running; it’s about saving a life and inspiring others to take action.

Kyle’s battle with cancer has been a challenging one, not only in terms of health but also financially. Medical expenses for cancer treatment can be overwhelming. Chad Markgraaf decided to step in and make a difference.
For Chad, each step represents a step towards hope and a brighter future for Kyle.

Chad’s dedication to Kyle’s cause has not gone unnoticed. Last week, he had the privilege of sharing some miles with Keith Boyd, who is planning a remarkable journey of his own – running from Cape Town to Cairo. Keith’s mission is to inspire South Africa’s youth to engage in the democratic process by getting to the voting polls. The synergy between these two runners highlights the incredible power of individuals to effect positive change.

In the spirit of solidarity and community support, a fundraising event is on the horizon. On September 9, St Declan’s School for Boys will be hosting an event that promises a day of fun and excitement. It’s not just an event for seasoned runners; everyone is encouraged to participate.

The day will feature various activities, trails for running or walking, stalls, and a delicious array of food options. It’s a chance for the community to come together, have a great time and contribute to a noble cause.

Chad’s Instagram (@thefaithfulchad) and Facebook (Chad Markgraaf) pages have become a rallying point for all who wish to support his cause.
