Alberton vehicle theft: Stolen car recovered in Kagiso
Gauteng Traffic Wardens and Rentrak joined forces to track and recover a stolen vehicle.
In a swift operation, Gauteng Traffic Wardens recovered a stolen motor vehicle in Kagiso on April 2.
The vehicle was stolen in Alberton, and a lookout alert was issued after it was spotted entering Kagiso.
Acting quickly, the wardens collaborated with Rentrak, a vehicle tracking company, to track the stolen vehicle.
Their combined efforts paid off, and they recovered the vehicle in Kagiso.
Alberton SAPS station commander David Sibuyi released a media statement, “The vehicle was stolen in Alberton North but was identified on the N12 as a stolen car. It is a company vehicle belonging to an Alberton resident. The car held flammable contents, so caution was taken when recovering it. The suspect was identified, and an investigation is ongoing before an arrest can be formalised,” said Sibuyi.

“The action of the Gauteng Traffic Wardens is commendable, and the Alberton SAPS thanks them for their service to our community,” he continued.
The swift response and effective teamwork by the Gauteng Traffic Wardens and Rentrak are a deterrent to would-be thieves and a testament to their commitment to keeping Gauteng’s roads safe.
