Fox Tactical members apprehended a criminal after they tried to break into a house in Meyersdal on May 8.
The members caught the person as they tried to open a gate. He broke the fence, but the gate remained intact.
The resident immediately alerted the security team.
The members’ swift action ensured the criminal was detained and handed over to the Brackendowns SAPS.
Constable Serg Baloyi of the Brackendowns SAPS outlined how criminals were becoming brazen in their crimes.
“Criminals are desperate and become devious and unpredictable. That this criminal tried to break into a locked house in broad daylight tells a story. The suspect remains in custody and will be charged with vandalism and attempted robbery,” said Baloyi.
