A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 57-year-old woman who was found seriously injured at her home in Blouklip Avenue, Bassonia.

According to Mondeor SAPS, the suspect was arrested yesterday and is expected to appear in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.

The arrest follows an incident on July 14 at about 19:10 when the woman was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood at her home.

As previously reported by the Southern Courier, the woman was rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries to her upper body. She later succumbed to her injuries.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder are continuing.
