Planned water maintenance to affect South Hills and Elandsfontein

Rand Water plans maintenance of its B6 pipeline in its schedule.

From August 19 to 23, Rand Water will perform planned maintenance on its B6 pipeline.

The freshly built pipeline is expected to be tied in near the intersection of Oak Street and Boundary Street in Garthdale. This pipeline was built to supplement a section of the existing B6 pipeline.

The South Hills and Elandsfontein will be affected by these four days of maintenance.

The project’s execution will begin on August 19 at 09:30 and it will be completed on August 23 at 13:00, over the course of 87,5 hours.

The City of Ekurhuleni, City of Tshwane, Johannesburg Water, and direct customers Airports Company South Africa and South African Airways have all received a 21-day notice from Rand Water, allowing them to implement the necessary measures.

Before the maintenance work begins, Rand Water has encouraged the aforementioned local municipalities and consumers to fill their reservoirs.

The Palmiet pumping station will continue to run at 90% of its capacity.
