Curro Oakdene hosts a successful fun day

Curro Oakdene hosted its inaugural Inflatable Fun Day event, inviting learners, teachers, parents and the community to a day filled with fun.

Curro Oakdene recently hosted an unforgettable Inflatable Fun Day, attracting over 500 attendees to Hoërskool Die Fakkel in Forest Hill.

The event was a shining example of community spirit, bringing families, local businesses, and the broader community together for an action-packed fun day.

The event featured an impressive array of inflatables, including three thrilling water slides, as well as exciting activities courtesy of B-Active, such as mini soccer, netball, tug of war, and a laser maze.

According to Robyn Pearce from Curro Oakdene, the event was the brainchild of executive head Melvin Govender, who sought to foster community engagement through shared experiences.

“Our teachers, learners, and parents deserved a well-earned break,” said Pearce.

The event also provided a platform for local vendors to showcase their wares, from handmade crafts to mouth-watering cuisine.

Curro Oakdene Inflatable Fun Day allowed small businesses to set up stalls while giving learners a full day of fun.

This not only provided variety for attendees but also allowed the school to support local entrepreneurs and showcase their talents.

“We are proud to have created an environment where everyone could connect, have fun, and support one another,” said Pearce.

Attendees enjoyed a diverse range of food options, including traditional South African fare, halaal specialities, and sweet treats.

“Both parents and learners had an amazing time and created lasting memories. The success of this year’s event has inspired us to make it an annual occasion. Look out for another fantastic day in 2025,” said Pearce.
