Please help the SPCA give back to their workers
Contribute to a goodie bag for a good cause.
The Johannesburg SPCA is starting to work on collating their Christmas goodie bag for their 36 staff members.
These will be handed out around Christmas time as a token of appreciation for all their hard work.
They are looking for donations of 36 items to add to the bag and request that these be the same items so they can place one in every staff member’s bag.
Anything is welcome, from snacks, cleaning aids, caps, toiletries, treats – whatever is suitable to add to the bag to make it extra special.
SPCA staff, such as the animal control officers who rescue animals from dangerous situations and poor living conditions go through many dangers to perform their duty.
These officers face dangers like aggressive animals that are hard to deal with as well as the constant dangers of crime. Many drivers and officers are at risk of being robbed or hijacked.
They operate in areas where there are high crime rates as many stray animals roam the streets of these areas.
The workers and cleaners that keep the kennels at the SPCA offices clean and also take care of a large amount of animals also do such a valuable job maintaining a clean environment for the animals as well as keeping them fed.
The administration staff who handle adoptions and home visits to make sure the animals go to a good home do so with such dedication and care.
They all deserve appreciation and a token of gratitude.
