Naturena Primary School hosts series of celebratory events

The celebrations highlighted the strength of the Naturena Primary School community and its commitment to nurturing and celebrating its learners.

Honouring the hard work and dedication of the learners who are shaping the future of the community, Naturena Primary School recently hosted a series of celebratory events that brought together learners, teachers, and families.

The celebrations honoured milestones, recognised outstanding performances, and marked the transition from one chapter to the next.

The festivities kicked off with the Grade R graduation ceremony. The learners, dressed in adorable graduation gowns, walked across the stage to receive their certificates.

The sight of these little graduates beaming with pride and excitement was a heartwarming reminder of the importance of early education and bright futures.

Parents and teachers cheered on as the graduates embraced this significant milestone, setting the tone for a week of celebrations.

This was followed by Naturena Primary School’s much-anticipated sports and academic awards ceremony. The event celebrated the exceptional talents and hard work of the learners across various fields.

Overall Grade Seven top achiever, Relebogile Mothoa.

Those who excelled in sports, demonstrating outstanding athletic abilities and sportsmanship, and academic achievers who displayed dedication and excellence throughout the year, received awards.

The top 10 academic learners received recognition of certificates, medals and trophies for their accomplishments.

The top three learners in Grade Seven received laptops to assist them on their new journey into high school, a gesture underscoring the school’s commitment to supporting its learners’ future success.

In addition to these prizes, Opel Accommodation, a partner of Naturena Primary School since 2022, also honoured the invitation to this event.

Each year, they gift a new laptop to the top achiever of Grade 7. This partnership also includes ongoing support for the recipient, ensuring the recipient continues to excel academically and is exposed to greater opportunities that pave the way for future success.

The finale of the week was the Grade Seven farewell celebration, a glamorous event to bid farewell to the senior learners as they prepare to embark on their high school journey.

They transformed the school into a beautifully decorated venue, complete with stunning decor and a three-course meal that added a touch of elegance to the day.

The Grade Seven learners, dressed in their finest attire, enjoyed a day of dining and dancing.

The overall top acheviers from grades one to seven with deputy principals, Lawrence Netshiendeulu and Tebogo Mbiza.

The celebration was not only a farewell but about celebrating the accomplishments and growth of these individuals as they transition to the next phase of their educational journey.

The principal Ishmael Mashau shared: “Looking ahead, Naturena Primary School is committed to improving every year and investing more in our learners. For 2025, we are dedicated to developing our learners holistically by adding more academic and sporting activities and extracurricular programs.

Deputy principal, Tebogo Mbiza, Miss Universe 2023 semi-finalist and founder of Opal Students accommodation, Patricia Tshitema, Grade Seven top achiever, Relebogile Motoa accompanied by her mother Ms Motoa, principal Ishmael Mashau and deputy principal Lawrence Neshiendeulu.

“We wish to make our school one of the top schools in the south of Johannesburg, yet it is not without its challenges. Naturena Primary requests corporates, local businesses and the community to help them by donating, sponsoring or partnering with the school. Our children’s future is in our hands; let us make it a bright one,” said Mashau.
