Miss Turffontein team shine beyond the stage

The members of this pageant team are dedicated to making a positive change, but they need sponsors to continue.

The Southern Development Projects team, also known as the Miss Turffontein team, asks the community for sponsorships to support their titleholders in giving back.

Despite a passion for making a positive impact, the queens’ ability to assist those in need is limited because of no financial backing and other resources.

“We call on sponsors who can help in any way, whether through financial support, donations or other forms of assistance. “our support will allow us to expand our reach and continue uplifting those in need,” said a spokesperson for the team.

The 2024 queens have already begun their community service initiatives, and their dedication to helping others is seen in their actions.

Some of their recent efforts:

• On February 8, Belia Beble (Miss Tiny Turffontein, first princess) and Blessing Simelane (Miss Teen Turffontein, second princess) visited St Mary’s Children’s Home in Rosettenville to donate clothing and school bags for the children.

• On February 9, Elizabeth Gumede (Miss Turffontein, first princess) distributed clothing and food to Palm Ridge residents while teaching the value of generosity.

• On February 12, Lubelihle Ndlovu (Miss Teen Turffontein, first princess) organised a teacher appreciation day at Kenilworth High School, giving teachers flowers and chocolates for their hard work and dedication.

• On February 14, all the queens celebrated Valentine’s Day. While some participated in the Kenilworth Valentine’s Day event, Alinda Ngwenya (Miss Pre-Teen Turffontein and Miss Turffontein public choice) spread the love at the Nal’ibali Daycare Centre, offering snacks to the children.

• On February 15, Roisa Mukendi (Miss Tiny Turffontein, second princess) visited the Rosettenville Babies Home, giving snacks and care to the little ones.

These are just some of the projects the queens were involved in, and many more initiatives are on the horizon.

The team encourages everyone to follow their social media pages for updates on their ongoing efforts.

“We would appreciate any support you can offer. Together, we can continue making a meaningful difference in the community,” the team added.

The Miss Turffontein team is eager to continue its work and hopes to collaborate with local businesses and people who share the same commitment to giving back.
