Mount Like Eagles Mission upgrades to a larger cooking space

With a bigger and better space to prepare meals, the organisation continues to offer warm meals to those in need.

Paula van Vuuren and Rose Kus Kus, the founders of Mount Like Eagles Mission, a religious-based NPO dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities in Johannesburg south are thrilled to move to a larger and better-equipped cooking and feeding facility.

This exciting relocation to MOMO’s Upliftment Centre marks a new chapter in the mission of Mount Like Eagles to address hunger and support families in need.

For years, Mount Like Eagles Mission has been a beacon of hope in the community where Paula and Rose would feed people weekly from their semi in Turffontein.

Paula van Vuuren and Rose Kus Kus ensure no one goes hungry.

However, with the growing need in the community, the ladies knew it was time for the next chapter.

“We are glad to have a space that allows us to expand our reach. It was a long journey, but we believe this will help us serve more people in need,” said the pair.

“The move is a true blessing and a testament to all the support we received from the community.”

The new facility will allow the organisation to operate daily from 12:00 to 17:00. They aim to feed up to 300 individuals daily, including men, women and children.

The ladies are on a mission to provide nourishing meals to the homeless.

Their goal has always been to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need and with the new kitchen and better facilities, they can continue tackling hunger in Johannesburg south.

This move represents a significant step forward for the organisation but comes with new challenges. To make the most of their new facility, the mission needs sponsors.

The organisation is currently seeking donations of two deep freezers, one fridge, two four-plate gas stoves, kitchen utensils and food sponsors who can help provide a variety of food items.

“To keep up with our daily feeding schedule and to ensure we can serve the community efficiently, we need to upgrade our equipment and secure ongoing food donations,” explained the two.

“We are grateful for the support from our sponsors and partners who have made this possible. Without their generosity, nothing would have been possible,” said Paula and Rose.

“This move is not just for us. It is for the community we serve.”

As Paula and Rose continue serving the community, they believe with the support of the incredible community of the south, they can do more to uplift those who need it.
