Britney Meistre releases debut EP 25 and shares her Meyersdal journey

Briteney Meistre’s debut EP 25 captures love, growth and resilience while marking a new chapter in her music career.

Britney Meistre has unveiled her debut EP 25, a four-track collection that captures the heart of her artistry and the reality of stepping into adulthood.

Available across all digital streaming platforms, the project blends emotional storytelling with a polished pop production showcasing her growth as a singer and songwriter.

The EP features her previously released single Rescue alongside three new songs titled 25, Dive, and Stay.
Each track explores a different shade of her journey.

Rescue is a soaring ballad about finding a home in another person, 25 reflects on identity and resilience, Dive captures the surrender of falling fully into love, while Stay bursts with upbeat joy and celebration.

“25 is my heart on display,” Meistre says.
“It is about love, faith, and becoming. Every song carries a piece of who I am and where I am now on my journey.”

Finding her voice

While 25 marks a milestone, Meistre’s musical journey began years ago.

Shining bright as ever, Britney Meistre celebrates the launch of EP 25.

Her first big leap came when she entered Idols at the age of 16, an experience that opened her eyes to the professional music world.

In 2021, she made her official debut with Where Are You Now?, co-written and produced with Lee Cole.
The single connected deeply with listeners and set her on a path of songwriting and production that has shaped her ever since.

“That release was my first step into the industry,” she recalls.

“It opened the door for me to explore songwriting more deeply. Seeing a song evolve from an idea to something that connects with people was incredibly powerful.”

Since then, Meistre has released singles such as By My Side and What About Us, carving out her space in the local pop scene.

The heart of 25

Turning 25 this year gave the EP its title and meaning. Writing the song 25 pushed her to dig deeper than before.
“It came with a lot of introspection. It was a deeply personal song, one that challenged my writing skills because I had to be honest with myself and translate that vulnerability into music,” she explains.

From Meyersdal to the music scene, her journey continues with EP 25.

Her vulnerability runs throughout the project.

“Balancing vulnerability with artistry is one of the most delicate parts of making music. I have learned that the more personal I get, the more people connect. Vulnerability is not weakness; it is the heartbeat of authenticity.”
The music video for 25, filmed among natural landscapes and styled by Meistre with Belara Couture and Louis Fritz, is a visual extension of that message.

Working with Black Water Weddings, she served as creative producer, shaping the video into a graceful, dreamlike story of growth and renewal.

Collaborations and inspiration

Meistre continues to work closely with trusted collaborators.

“Working with Lee Cole and the Jazzworx team, Greg Nottingham and Moong K, has always felt natural. We speak the same artistic language, which allows us to push boundaries while staying true to the emotional core of the music.”

Jazzworx director Robin Kohl describes the EP as a triumph rarely witnessed, praising Meistre’s unique brand of pop with singer-songwriter undertones.

Looking ahead, she hopes to expand her circle of collaborations both locally and globally with artists who inspire her sound.

Connecting with fans

For Meistre, the true reward of making music lies in connection.

“I hope people connect with this EP by finding pieces of themselves in each song. Whether someone is navigating change, searching for clarity, or trying to feel understood, I want this music to be a companion.”

Her message to young adults is rooted in the theme of her project.

“You are not supposed to have it all figured out. This decade is messy, beautiful, and transformative. Do not let comparison steal your joy, and do not rush the process. Growth does not always look glamorous, but it is always worth it.”

Returning to her roots

Though she now stands as a rising artist with her debut EP, Meistre’s story traces back to Meyersdal, where her love for music began.

Britney Meistre creates magic in the studio.

She was the little girl who sang endlessly, joined school productions, and gravitated toward cultural activities instead of the sports field.

Later, she attended Waterstone College and Cambridge International Distance College before completing a Bachelor of Laws and an Honours degree in Management.

Her passion for music was not inherited but self-discovered, growing stronger with each performance and opportunity.

“Music was not just something I liked. It was something I felt deeply connected to even as a child,” she reflects.

Today, with 25, Meistre closes the circle – from a girl in Meyersdal who sang at every chance she got, to an artist ready to share her voice with the world.
