Southdale Shopping Centre brings families together for fun day
Families enjoyed fitness, entertainment, games and prizes as local businesses joined the centre in giving back to the community.
Southdale Shopping Centre hosted a Family Fun Day on September 19, bringing families and community members together for a day of activities, entertainment and giving back to the community.
The day began with an aerobics session led by Accelerate Fitness, allowing families to take part in a fitness activity together.

Later, The Bud Basket and Kylo The DJ provided music and entertainment for those attending. Children and parents enjoyed games and balloon sculpting, with prizes also handed out during the day.

As part of the centre’s effort to give back to the community, Southdale Shopping Centre provided vouchers for hot rolls from Pick n Pay and ice-cream vouchers from Waltloo. Pick n Pay Southdale also contributed prizes for children and families attending the event.

The organisers said: “The Family Fun Day allowed us to bring families together and give back to the community. We appreciate the support from the businesses and individuals who contributed to the day. Their involvement helped us provide activities, food vouchers and prizes for the families who attended.”

The event also demonstrated the importance of Ubuntu and cooperation within the local community. Local businesses and organisations contributed in different ways to help make the day possible.

The centre thanked Pick n Pay, PostNet, The Bud Basket, Sam’s Beauty, Capitec, M&F Sales, Cafe Mino, Accelerate Fitness, Omi The Clown, The Southern Courier, Kylo The DJ, and Vinesh Moonsamy from Feed Station Organisation SA for their support.
