A police officer had been shot on the corner of 4th Street and Johannesburg Road. Here is a man who once again in the course of his duty stopped a person, checking for drugs. A tussle ensued and he was shot by this person.

I am extremely concerned at the death of a police officer from Moffatview Police Station. It goes beyond everything that SAPS stand for! My question is, what would you do if this was your child, grandchild, sibling that this happened to?

Is our police force not allowed to carry out their duties, and furthermore, are we supposed to have sympathy for the criminal elements when they are arrested? The police officer was shot in the line of duty! He left home that morning, and his family expected him to come home in the evening in one piece, but now his family will be told that he had been shot and is in the Milpark Hospital. When is this crime going to be stopped! I am appalled at what is happening in the South of Johannesburg.

It is the responsibility of each and every one of the residents of the South to give SAPS information of where the drug houses, drug lords are harboured. Information should be reported to 32211, and your call will be held in confidence. We have to get rid of the drugs, drug lords and crime in the South.
